Jasmine absolute is a solvent extraction — concrete to absolute — of Jasminum grandiflorum or J. sambac. Those two species differ in smell, cost, and IFRA. South-India origin is stated only when the mill will keep it. Residual solvent is a spec. “Too clean” often means a fraction. Provence photography does not belong on an Indian floral.
Kannauj attars are deg-bhapka hydrodistillation into a declared base. Historically that base was sandalwood; a paraffin “attar” is another product. One URL, briefed per enquiry — not fifty gift-shop SKUs. A GC on a sandalwood-base attar is messy; still run what you can. Do not hide undocumented sandalwood inside an attar label. No civet.
Steam-distilled floral oil is a third conversation. Absolute is not attar. Attar is not a souvenir.
